Datadog

Step 1: Retrieve your Datadog credentials

To integrate your Datadog data with Plecto, you need to provide the following credentials:

  • Domain

  • API Key

  • Application key

How to find your Datadog credentials

🐶 Domain

The domain is the Datadog site your account is hosted on. You can see it in your browser's address bar when you are logged in to Datadog. For example, if you log in at https://app.datadoghq.eu, your domain is app.datadoghq.eu.

🐶 API Key
  1. Log in to your Datadog account.

  2. Go to Organization Settings > API Keys.

  3. Click New Key, give the key a name (for example, "Plecto"), and click Create Key.

  4. Copy the key.

Note: You need the API Keys Write permission to create a new API key. If you don't have it, ask a Datadog administrator to create the key for you.

🐶 Application key
  1. In Datadog, go to Organization Settings > Application Keys.

  2. Click New Key, give the key a name (for example, "Plecto"), and click Create Key.

  3. Copy the key right away. Datadog only shows the full application key once.

  4. Set the scopes for the Application key by clicking Edit.

List of scopes used by Plecto:

  • cases_read
  • events_read
  • incident_read
  • monitors_read
  • user_access_read

An application key has the same permissions as the user who created it. Make sure that user can view the data you want to import into Plecto: users, cases, events, incidents, and monitors.

Once you have retrieved all the credentials, move to Step 2 to connect your Datadog account with Plecto.

Step 2: Integrate Datadog with Plecto

  1. In Plecto, go to Data sources > New data source > Datadog.

  2. Enter your domain, enter your API key and application key, and click Next.

  3. Select the data you want to import.

  4. Configure your data source settings. Here, you can change the title, choose the default date, select which fields to import, and more.

  5. Click Next to choose how much data to import and how long you want to keep it.

  6. Click Import to finish.
