Recurring Contests
What is a recurring contest?
A recurring contest repeats itself. When the contest ends, Plecto starts a fresh one with the same formula, players, targets and prizes, moved forward by the interval you chose. You build the contest once, and it keeps coming back.
This is useful for contests you run on a fixed rhythm, for example a weekly sales sprint, a monthly call challenge, or a quarterly team competition. Each run is its own contest with its own winners.
How to make a contest repeat

Go to Contests > New, or open an existing contest to edit it.

Set up the contest as usual: title, type, theme, formula, target and players.

On the Duration & Prizes step, set both a Start and an End date and time.

Open the Repeat contest dropdown and choose your interval.

Check the Next contest starts date shown below the dropdown, then finish and click Create contest.
💡 Tip: Reopen the contest at any time to change the interval, or set it back to Does not repeat to stop it from renewing.
Repeat intervals

Does not repeat. The contest runs once and ends. This is the default.

The interval is counted from the Start date. If your contest starts on 1 September and you pick Monthly, the next contest starts on 1 October.
An end date is required
The Repeat contest option only appears once you've set an end date. Plecto needs to know when one run finishes before it can start the next one.
If you remove the end date, Repeat contest disappears and resets to Does not repeat.
Note: A contest with a target but no end date finishes as soon as the first player or team reaches the target. That kind of contest can't repeat — add an end date if you want it to renew.
The overlap warning
Your repeat interval has to be at least as long as the contest itself, otherwise the next contest would start before the current one has finished.
If you pick an interval that's too short — for example Daily on a contest that runs for two days — Plecto shows a warning:
This repeat interval is shorter than the contest duration, so the repeated contests will overlap. Pick a longer interval or shorten the contest to avoid overlap.
To fix it, either choose a longer interval or move the end date closer to the start date.
