Cuneo Scales Up 15x with Plecto Real-Time Dashboards
Meeting booking agency Cuneo needed a fast, customizable way to obtain KPI results and boost employee morale. Enter Plecto—and a truly remarkable company scale-up that followed.
With 30 employees and headquarters in Helsinsgør, Denmark, Cuneo specializes in B2B meeting booking, telemarketing, data collection, and social media. Cuneo has helped its customers grow both in Denmark and abroad since it was founded in April 2013. As a recipient of the prestigious Børsen Gazelle in 2021, 2022, and 2023, Cuneo has solidified its position as one of the fastest-growing businesses in Denmark. Its clients are primarily drawn from the IT industry and include companies operating in Europe and beyond, such as Protech-X, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and the Copenhagen Business Hub.
Peter Benjaminsen, Cuneo CEO, was searching for a dashboard solution to easily visualize the team’s tasks and progress.
“We have a budget, and we needed to combine it with data about how we performed, what our business activities were, what we still needed to do, and how well we did it,” he says.
“That data was in our call system but, of course, it’s not shown the same way as Plecto shows it. And so we needed a system to show us our performance.”
The key factor was that the data needed to be presented in real time, so that progress towards business targets could be immediately identified, and that modifications could be made on the fly.
“Our setup is very dynamic; it’s small campaigns. We can’t sit and work for 10 hours if we’ve already finished the campaign,” Peter says. “So it’s very important for us that our data is updated live.”
The Solution
Live KPI Insights for Efficient Lead-to-Meeting Conversions
Peter stumbled across Plecto while searching on Google, and found its customizability immediately attractive. Cuneo was able to integrate its CRM and telephony system—Enreach (previously Herobase)—into Plecto, with Peter saying the integrations were “very easy” to do.
Peter says Plecto’s primary function for Cuneo is to identify both individual and team-level activities, and where campaigns can be improved.
"In our call system, we can see a campaign and just click on it to see who’s working on it, and in another dashboard, we can see how that campaign is performing," Peter says.
"But there could be someone who’s performing well and someone who’s performing worse. So it’s important for us to not be blinded by the total, but instead, we could optimize something inside the campaign.
“For example, we can make sure one of our customers should have 10 meetings this month, and another one should have five, and we can make sure that we are trying to reach that live target. So if there are five meeting bookers on the same team, they will instantly see if the meetings are booked, and at what time they’re booked. This is something that we wouldn’t be able to see easily in our call system.”
“The main KPIs we focus on are number of meetings booked and turnover, but of course we also look at the success rates of how many subjects we use to book one meeting,” Peter says.
“In the B2B industry there are not as many reasons to call, so we can have campaigns where we have only 200 leads to call. So it’s important for us to see how many we use for one meeting. It’s making sure your resources are being used and actually these are a crucial thing for us because they are limited.
That’s not all—Plecto has revolutionized the sales culture at Cuneo by using gamification and displaying dashboards on the office TV screens.
Peter has made hitting monthly targets an achievement in and of itself, by awarding virtual “badges” for each employee who achieves their monthly target. This simple but motivating method has proved to be successful, with a quick look into one of the meeting-bookers dashboards showing employees with up to 10 achievement badges at a time!
In short: employees are hitting their monthly targets more consistently, and are motivated to do so by having their results shown onscreen. Plus, it’s easier for Peter to see who has (or hasn’t) met their goals.
Cuneo has adopted gamification for team-based celebrations, too. “We are mostly using notifications for team goals,” Peter says. “For example, say we have a monthly goal. And when we reach that, then something will come up onscreen. If someone books a meeting, they will get something onscreen."
Plecto has also helped unleash employee competitiveness, meaning agents reach their goals faster, and have fun doing so. “We like to do contests for the whole company. We’ve done competitions where we’re playing basketball, cricket, and other activities in-house, but are putting numbers into Plecto every day,” Peter says.
Another efficiency-boosting gamification practice Cuneo has engaged with is using what’s known as “conditional colors” to quickly highlight where employee performance is going great, OK, or needs a little work. For example, when Cuneo’s agents have booked at least seven meetings per week, the dashboard widget will reflect their progress in reaching–and exceeding–this goal. “For 27 meetings, the bars are green. But between 22 to 26, the bars are yellow,” Peter says.
The Results
Scaling, Self-Learning, and Securing Campaigns
Peter proclaims that Plecto has made it possible to grow each year, taking the team from 2 employees to what it is today, where “we can see that we are performing better and better.”
Of course, not all of the company’s success can be attributed to Plecto, but the CEO concedes that visualizing data has led to more empowered employees, and quicker decision-making, which in turn has played a role in his team’s significant growth.
"Plecto plays a key role in allowing us to react quickly, follow the live data, and be dynamic. Plecto offers us a nice, secure way of being aware of any tasks or challenges we need to address."
An unexpected result for the meeting booking agency was the extent to which Plecto helped change Cuneo’s culture. Thanks to Plecto’s data visibility, work at Cuneo has become an occasion for self-learning and personal growth.
“The great part of the process is that it allows employees to look into and work more with their performance, progress, or activities themselves,” Peter says.
“I think that's one of the more underrated things about Plecto, that it empowers your employees to think about their performance and have the desire to be able to see what they are and can do.”
A Management and Time-Saving Dream
Aside from improving morale, meetings, and a “my performance, my responsibility” mindset amongst the team, Peter is quick to note that Plecto is a terrific, time-saving solution for managers.
"The main thing for us is that our performance is updated live, and I can keep track of a lot of different tasks and employees," he says.
"It also means it’s possible for me to give my project managers the best view so they can easily follow their campaigns. If they haven’t got that view, it would take them a lot longer to get those insights!"
"The main thing for us is that our performance is updated live, and I can keep track of a lot of different tasks and employees."
