The Biggest Employee Management Update in Plecto History πŸ”₯πŸ•ΊπŸΌ

This update includes bulk actions, smart merging, changes in how we handle deactivation, and much more!

Here's what's new

⭐️ Active, Deactivated, and Pending tabs

From now on, all employee profiles are organized in three statuses – Active, Deactivated, and Pending:

  • Active tab lists employees who send data to Plecto and/or have login access.
  • Deactivated tab contains employees who were manually deactivated or whose employment period has ended.
  • Pending tab lists employees who have been imported but have not yet been assigned a status. When reviewing the list, admins can activate or discard these employees. All discarded employees are moved to the Deactivated tab.

⭐️ More control over automatic employee activation

Before, whenever you imported data that contained new employees, Plecto would automatically activate them and start tracking the employee activity.

Now, you have the option to stop automatic employee activation. New employees added to your organization will be moved to the Pending tab, where you will have to activate them manually. This new option gives you more control over your data and who you track in Plecto.

In addition, all Global Admins can receive email updates about new employees added to your organization.

⭐️ Smart merging of duplicate profiles

Clean up your organization in seconds! This new feature lists potential employee duplicates and allows you to merge employees based on automatic suggestions. Duplicate profiles are matched by the name, email address, and integration.

⭐️ Bulk actions

Create a team, merge, and deactivate – from now on, you can do all that in bulk! Select the relevant people and choose one of the actions from the bar at the bottom of the screen. These new bulk actions enable you to manage your organization more easily and save valuable time!

⭐️ Other great things

Among all the updates, we have introduced significant usability improvements:

  • See everyone's latest login in the employee overview
  • Filter the employees by teams, integrations, or permissions
  • Sort the columns
  • Import from and export employees to Excel file (.xlsx)

🚨Changes regarding data imports for deactivated employees

As of February 14th, 2024, we are no longer importing new or changed data for employees after their deactivation date. If you do a historical import, we will only import the data created or updated before the employee’s deactivation date.

⚠️ Important to know!
  • Deactivation date of all employees already inactive on the release day will be 12.02.2024.
  • Registrations already imported for deactivated employees will stop being updated.
  • Deactivation date will be visible in the new Deactivated tab.
  • Once pending or deactivated employees get activated, Plecto will start importing their data. To get historical data of the employees, you will have to import more data in the data source settings.

These new features are designed with you in mind – giving you more control, saving time, and ensuring your organization runs smoothly. Therefore, feel free to submit your feedback and help us make the product even better!

Roll Out The Red Carpet Because.. Dashboard Filters Are Here! πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Forget about maintenance hours updating your formulas.. From now on, you can get any dashboard view you want using our new dashboard and drill-down filters! πŸ“Š πŸš€

πŸš€ Dashboard filters

Filter your dashboards just like you would formulas. Choose data source fields and filter your KPIs by a specific customer, country, pipeline, or any other fields from the data sources included in your dashboard. This filter type will apply to the entire dashboard, and all relevant widgets will be updated, even if the used formulas have filters.

πŸš€ Drill-down filters

Admins can add a menu of possible filters for viewers to use. This filter type allows non-admins to explore data without changing the widget settings. All users with access to this dashboard will see a Filters button in the top menu, and they will be able to view the dashboard by your selected filters.

We have added a brand new Filters tab in the dashboard settings where you can find all the new filters you can play with. In addition to the new filters, you can still apply the well-known team filters.

Wait, there's more!?

Along with this release, we have also updated the dashboard header, which now offers more functionality and some delicious-looking buttons. πŸ˜‹

πŸ” Share Single Data Sources and Formulas Across Your Organization! πŸ”

We are incredibly excited to announce the latest and greatest feature in Plecto – SHARING! From now on, you can share individual data sources and formulas with others in your organization! πŸ”₯

image

What's new?

This new feature comes directly from your ideas and input shared in our Product Portal, and this is how it works:

  • You no longer have to give employees full permission to a feature or make them Global Admins to let them do their tasks. With object sharing, you can now share individual formulas and data sources across the organization and choose what access rights everyone gets.
  • Along with sharing, we are introducing the concept of ownership. Each data source and formula can have an owner who will gain full access to the object regardless of their permission in Plecto (Standard or custom), and they can then manage the object, including its access settings.
  • When someone adds a data source or creates a formula, they automatically become the owner. It is always possible to change owners, and ownership, in general, is optional.

image

πŸ’‘ Find what objects are shared with you by clicking on your profile in the bottom-left corner of Plecto!

How do I participate?

Go to Organization > Billing and click Object sharing BETA. Once you've joined, you'll see a Share button in your data sources and formulas. This Beta feature is available on Large and Enterprise plans.

To learn more about this feature, read our help article on docs.plecto.com.

How does it work?

You can now filter data by multiple values. For example, to see how many leads you got from specific sources, you can add a filter where the source IS ONE OF the following: AAA, BBB, or CCC.

The filter works with number, text, and choice fields and is available in both the Visual and Advanced Formula editors.

New Feature Release - Edit Formulas in Widgets! πŸš€

You don't have to be an expert to build formulas in Plecto!

Formulas are at the core of Plecto – a single formula lets you visualize multiple KPIs, organize a contest, discuss performance during a one-on-one meeting, and so much more. Whether you're a seasoned formula expert or a new user, we want to make it easy to work with Plecto! And that's why we are excited to announce...

Formulas in widgets!

From now on, if you want to create a simple, one-component formula, you can do it directly on the widget without ever opening the formula editor!

Add an extra layer to your formula using overrides. If you modify the formula on a widget, it will only apply to the widget in question and not affect the original formula.

To keep the house in order, we grouped the widget settings into three sections – Formulas, Filters, and Display settings.

With formulas in widgets, you now have the ultimate toolkit to effortlessly create dynamic KPIs that display your business metrics in real time! Go to your dashboards, try it yourself, and let us know what you think! πŸ’‘

This new feature makes it so much easier to build straightforward, one-component formulas. To learn more about how to use it, check out our help article. πŸš€

Introducing Column Reordering in Data Sources

Here's to another good day for Plecto's data sources! We've introduced a usability update that lets you reorganize the column order in a data source using drag-and-drop. πŸ™Œ

You asked for the option to calculate the difference between two dates – you got it! πŸ™Œ With this new feature, you can customize your data sources and gain deeper insight from the data that's already available.

Our data sources got an upgrade – from now on, you can add new fields to all integrations right inside Plecto. Here's what you can achieve with the new Calculated Fields feature:

  • Perform basic calculations – add, subtract, divide, or multiply values from fields of the same data source,
  • Add fields that contain static values such as 5000 or calculations like 6*6.12.

What's great – it is up to you to define what gets shown in a calculated field! Use it to calculate how long it takes to close a sales deal, prepare an order, complete a task, calculate gross/net values, and more.

Achievement makeover πŸŽ‰

You probably noticed that we’ve been quietly working on adjustments in the gamification corner. First, we modified the achievement badges, then we stacked them on your dashboards…

image

The cat’s out of the bag now – it was all part of a bigger plan! We’re excited to finally show you a completely remade achievement form!

What's new?

  • From now on, you can choose between different badge shapes and colors and even upload custom icons. For best results, we recommend using a single-color icon with a transparent background (file format: SVG). πŸ‘‰ Here's an open source icon library for inspiration.

image

  • We’ve also added a little preview window so that you can see the achievement badge while designing it. 🎨

image

More good news

  • What else – no more random week numbers! If your achievement cycle is a week, you no longer have to memorize all weeks of the year. How? – We added dates to each week! 🀩

  • All active and past achievements are stored in each employee’s profile. See your achievement timeline by hovering over the badge.

  • We also modernized the way you give achievements manually. Open an employee page and see what's new!

We hope you enjoy this feature just as much as we do! 🌟 If you have any feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

πŸ“‚ Get Organized With Folders...

... And Bulk Actions!

We have some very exciting news – Plecto is adding folders in formulas!

Do you remember that feeling of having to delete formulas one by one? – Well, not anymore! With this update, we're introducing folders, bulk actions, and drag and drop. And we're only getting started...

We're taking our first steps in introducing folders and bulk actions across the platform. Here's what's new in this release:

πŸ”Έ Create folders

Easily create, organize, and rename your folders. We've added the Create folder button in multiple places, so you won't miss it.

image

πŸ”Έ Select multiple items

Select multiple items and create folders based on the selection. We've also introduced some keyboard shortcuts – hold down the Shift key to select multiple formulas or press Esc to clear the selection.

image

πŸ”Έ Organize your folders and formulas using drag and drop

Move your folders and formulas around more easily. Grab one or multiple items and drag them to a different destination.

image

πŸ”Έ Cleanup made easy

You can finally delete multiple items at once, but only those that are not in use. If a formula is in use, you'll have to find a replacement for it. This is to ensure that you don't lose any metrics (on dashboards and reports) or don't break any existing setup (contests, notifications, performance agreements).

We're continuously working on improving our features, so stay tuned for more updates! Meanwhile, give us some feedback and let us know what you think.

πŸ“± New Plecto Lock Screen Widgets for iOS 16!

If you updated your Apple devices to the new iOS 16, you probably noticed some new features. Good thing we did, too.

image

We've updated our mobile app to support the new iOS 16 lock screen widgets – you can now add Plecto widgets both to your home and lock screens and keep track of your metrics wherever you go!
What widgets are supported?

The lock screen widget menu is the same as for the home screen. Here are the widgets you can add:

  • Number box
  • Speedometer
  • Leaderboard
  • Line & Area charts
  • Column chart
  • Pie chart
How to add Plecto widgets to the lock screen?
  1. Tap and hold the lock screen for two seconds.
  2. Click Customize to edit the screen.
  3. Tap inside the available areas. A menu will appear at the bottom.
  4. Select Plecto from the list.
  5. Choose the widgets you want to see on your lock screen. This will add a widget placeholder.
  6. Tap on each of the placeholders to choose your dashboard and a widget.
  7. Once you're finished, tap Done in the top-right corner.

⚠️ Can't see Plecto on the list?
Apple seems to have some trouble displaying apps in the menu. Make sure you have the latest version of Plecto. If you still can't see the app, try deleting and reinstalling Plecto on your phone. We know it's not ideal, but it will fix the issue.

Resizable Columns on Dashboards

You gave feedback – we listened. With the new dashboard design being far more superior to the old one, there were still a couple of things we needed to improve. Most importantly, you asked for resizable columns – you got it! πŸ’ͺ

πŸ‘‰ With this update, we added the option to change the column widths on table and timeline widgets.

image

πŸ’‘ How does it work?
  • By default, columns are as wide as their content or header – whichever is wider. It means that whenever you add new columns, they will be as wide as the widest part in a specific row or header.
  • If you manually change a column's width, that column will assume a fixed width.
  • If you resize the widget, all columns with the default width will adjust in size depending on how wide the widget is, and all columns that you've adjusted manually will maintain their fixed width.
  • The column on the left that usually displays employees can now be resized, too! If you want to optimize even more space, feel free to play around with the widget layouts to find the best solution – display avatars, names, or both.
πŸ’‘ How to adjust the column width?

Enable the Edit mode on your dashboard and click Edit on your table or timeline widgets. You will see vertical bars in the column header. Drag the bars to the right or left sides to adjust the column width. ↔️

image

πŸ’‘ Reset default width

We also added a Reset column width button in the column settings. Edit the widget and click on the three little dots in the column header to reset.

image

Go and try it out – we hope you'll like it! πŸ™Œ

Got feedback? We would love to hear it!

Say Hello to the New Dashboard Design! πŸš€

We're announcing the biggest dashboard update Plecto has ever seen!

Starting today, you get a completely new dashboard design that significantly improves your experience of tracking KPIs on TV screens. πŸ™Œ We have aligned the widget elements and increased passive readability – you can now get a better overview of your data without interacting with the dashboard.

image

What's new?

  • New visual layer and more functionality! We have improved the look of our widgets by adding more labels, fresh colors and gradients, an option to hide the widget title, and much more.

image

  • Changes in the dessert kitchen – pie chart is now called a donut chart! 🍩 Along with the update, you now have more control over how your data gets displayed. View the donut segments as values, percentages, or both.

image

  • Widget animations. The donut and column charts will automatically highlight their elements every once in a while (approx. every 6 minutes).

  • More layout options. The donut chart and leaderboard have both horizontal and vertical layouts.

image

  • Leaderboard ranking. From now on, employees and teams with the same results will have the same ranking. For example, if Susan and Jennifer both made 17 calls, they would share the first place on the leaderboard.

  • Summary. Add a KPI summary in the top-right corner of a widget and see the total, average, or latest values. The summary is available on the line, area, column, and donut charts, as well as leaderboards.

image

  • Show column values. See the exact value of each column on the column chart.

image

  • More avatars. Show avatars not only on table widgets but also on the line, area, and column charts. No profile picture? Plecto will show the initials instead.
  • Time format. Now you can choose between a 12h or 24h time format on the clock widget.

... and more! Go to your dashboards and try the new design to see the changes. πŸ™Œ

How to change to the new design?
  1. Open your dashboard and click Settings in the top menu.
  2. Expand the Advanced settings.
  3. Click Use the new design.
  4. Save.

image

πŸ’‘ Be aware that once you switch to the new design, you might have to resize some of the widgets – they might need more or less space than before.

Permanent change after 30 days

Since you might have to update some of the dashboards, we've decided to open a 30-day transitioning period after which we will implement the new design permanently and remove the old one.

Activating TVs Just Got Easier! 🀩

We have released an update that makes it significantly easier to activate and manage your slideshows and TVs! πŸ™Œ Previously, you had to go to your profile, where you would only see the TVs you yourself had activated. To help your organization keep better track, we moved all the activated TVs to their own section called TV management.

image

In there, you will find a list of the activated TVs, including the names of the slideshows, who activated them, and more. You can also edit the TV name or deactivate it – all in one place. Cool, right? πŸ’ͺ

Having a central place for all your organization's TVs makes it much easier to get an overview and control and manage your screens.

This new feature is available to all Global Admins and employees with permission to edit the Slideshow feature.

Introducing Time Zones on Dashboards 🌎

Great news for our Large and Enterprise clients! πŸ™Œ We have just launched a time zone setting that allows you to change time zones on individual dashboards!

Up until now, all dashboards were using the same time zone as your organization. We have worked hard and added more functionality so that you can set up dashboards for your teams across the globe and visualize your KPIs relative to each time zone. πŸ’ͺ

image

How do time zones work in Plecto?

You can change the time zone for your entire organization in Organization > Settings or change it on a single dashboard in the dashboard settings. You can also add a Clock widget to a dashboard in case you want to get an overview of the different time zones.

As for slideshows, all slideshows use the same time as the device they're connected to. Therefore, if you change the time zone on your computer or TV, the slideshow will synchronize and use the same time zone.

How to change the time zone on a dashboard?

  1. Go to Visualization > Dashboards and open a dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings and toggle the Advanced settings.
  3. Choose a time zone.
  4. Click Save.

Go to Plecto Help to learn more about time zones in Plecto.

New in Permissions - Manage Multiple Employees at Once

Exciting news for permissions! You can now assign, reassign, and remove multiple employees from a permission profile – all at once! πŸ’ͺ

Where to look?
Go to Organization > Permissions and open a permission profile. Click the Assigned employees tab, then Manage employees. From there, you can assign, reassign or remove employees. Only employees with login access are listed.

image

Here's how it works:

1. Add employees to the permission profile
Click Manage employees and add new employees to the permission profile by selecting them from the list. Click Save. The added employees will be reassigned to this permission profile.

2. Remove employees from the permission profile
Deselect employees from the list, then click Save. All deselected employees will be reassigned to your organization's default permission profile.

3. Add AND remove employees
If you both add new and remove employees from the list, then the added employees will be assigned to the permission profile in question, and the removed employees will be reassigned to your organization's default permission profile.

4. Search and filters
Filter the employee list by teams and permission profiles, or use the search bar to find your employees. If someone has a display name, you will have to search them by their display name – their full name won't be visible on the list. Better Time Periods on Reports πŸ“… πŸŽ‰

You requested it - we made it happen! πŸ™Œ

We're proud to announce the latest update to our Reports feature: the option to choose a custom time period for each report group.

image

Enabling the options for using custom end dates (ie. Current Year to the End of Previous Month) or offsets in your time period (ie. Current Month starting on day 15) allows you to define your desired output even further.

image

As a bonus, we added more options to group your columns by in each report group for an even more insightful overview of your data, which now includes the option to group by days, weeks, months, quarters, and years (based on the time period you have chosen). πŸ₯³

Conditional colors now support text values!

As you might already know, using colors is a great way to make your dashboards easier to understand at a quick glance. Plecto's conditional colors in formulas allow you to do just that:

image

In the example above, every widget that uses the formula, will now be colored green if the value is above 5000, yellow if between 4000 and 5000, and red if below 4000.

image

Text values

From now on, conditional colors support one more cool feature: You can now use text values to decide the color!

image

For example, you could color the current status of your agents in a table. Online agents will be green, agents that are re-assigning their tickets will be yellow, and agents that are away will be red.

image

Another interesting idea is to use an IF statement that returns YES or NO depending on whether you have reached your sales target or not.
