Python expert for developing integrations with external APIs

Plecto is looking for a Python freelancer to help us develop more integrations with other systems such as CRMs, dialers and marketing tools. You should be an expert in Python and have experience working with JSON, REST, SOAP, webhooks and other types of APIs.

Your job will be to develop an integration that will efficiently read data from an external API and insert it into Plecto. You will have to strictly follow our pre-defined framework where you are expected to:

  • Handle user authentication to the external system,
  • Periodically retrieve data from the external system,
  • Clean the data and return it in a normalized format,
  • Transform any custom data fields to a standardized format,
  • Gracefully handle API exceptions and timeouts,
  • Ensure the integration is fast and efficient,
  • Write user and developer documentation.

At Plecto, we expect a high level of code quality and maintainability. Your code should be clean, concise and follow PEP8 as much as possible. You should not repeat yourself and use the tools already provided to you. Your code should be thoroughly tested and handle exceptions gracefully. You should be able to write comprehensible documentation describing in detail the features offered by the integration. You should be an active user of GIT and have experience with Github and code review.

If you are a good fit for the task, there are many opportunities for more future work or even full-time employment.
